what is a powerhead?

between petsmart and petco, aquatic warehouse, or any other south county fish store, which would be cheeper? how about second cheepest?

oooo! it says it is an undergravel filter though.....or like.....idk......

thanks a bunch for all the help you have been giving me! i appreciate it so so much!

You can run it on a tube for an undergravel filter. Most people use it just for circulation. It serves many purposes.

if i run it on a tube for circulation, how would that work? i mean, like would i have to tie the tube to the side of the aquarium? and does it circulate on the surface or does the tube run on the mid section or bottom section of the aquarium?

Your welcome. Glad to help you. :)

sorry i ask so many questions, i just really don't want to make any serious mistakes. i love keeping my fish and i know i'd be devistated if anything happened to them, ESPECIALLY if it was my fault. =[

power-head can mount to the glass with provided suction cups.
Just stick the bottom end into the tube and stick the unit to the glass.

It's REALLY easy!

then it pulls the water through the grid under the gravel up into the power-head and shoots out the power-head to create water movement.

but i'm not having gravel, i'm have sand substrate. how is it going to be able to circulate under the substrate without kicking it up?
