Lets see.... 350GPH (from filter) + 150GPH (aquaclear) + 170GPH (penguin) + ? (Skimmer) = 670GPH without skimmer.
And I think you are right about live Xenia. Although I don't have the guts to smell my live Xenia at the moment.
I've heard it is horrid when you're fragging it.
On the gph, I don't count anything but the powerheads on my tank. I figure anything from the return pump, etc. is gravy. If you do count things like the filter make sure you're accounting for head loss.

Yikes. I was going to test frag it soon also. I have way more than I need. My clown doesn't even like to host in it. If I was clown I think that would be my perfect host choice. Its nice and bushy. Oh well, maybe I have a clown with sensitive nose?
That makes sense. I guess I should reduce the amount expected from the filter. It just seemed to be doing a great job in regards to water movement. Its nicely distributes it on the upper half. I faced the power heads towards the bottom half to cover that area.
Awww you even decorated it for the holidays. I like the open areas in the rock, why is the water level low?
Hehehe I love the holidays. Usually I don't decorate until after thanksgiving, but I wasn't able to decorate last year so I wanted to make up for lost time.

lol you noticed the water level? I ran out of RO water at the last minute so I could only fill it up to a certain point. Unlike last time when I was lazy.
