do pictus catfish eat algae?

how big do they get? i probably won't get 1, but still i am curious.

They typically get to about 9inches to 12 inches. The place I buy fish from though told me that they have seen them as large as 14 inches or so, which surprised the heck out of me.

I have two of them and both of them have been sitting at about 4 inches for about 4-5 months.
