Wondering if anybody had experience with these three pumps? I'm looking at the 55's in these lines of pumps.

blueline around 220.00 plus shipping

md around 119.00 plus shipping

iwaki around 300.00 plus shipping.

Also the Gen x pcx 55 179.00 plus shipping

Is the md a lot inferior to the other two pumps?
MD 55 External Water
Pump, 1,125 gph
WP-MD55

>Similar to Iwaki MD55RLT with head and output. Widely used in the aquarium industry these magnetic pumps offer the capacity of pumping a high valume of water at an extremly low price.
The pumps are magnetic drive with ceramic shafts, so they are compatible in both fresh and saltwater.
Inlet/outlets are 1" barb fittings.
Not designed to run dry.
CE-approved, 110V/50-60Hz., 1.5 Amp.

$119.95<

I'm powering a etss 800xr with it.

Thanks,
Tom

I have a blueline 70 HD pump. It's been running now for about 2 years without a problem. It's pretty quiet, considering it's output, and from what I hear bluelines are quieter than the iwaki pumps. I don't know anything about the MDs.

That's good to hear. I think I'm going to end up with a blueline 55 hd. No sense in spending an arm and a leg on the skimmer and going cheap on the pump.

Thanks for the reply,
Tom
