Mafia #18 The Santa Game

:confused::confused: An interesting response...especially the whole "Im innocent thing"...is hn really cracking under the pressure? Seems very much unlike him

Keep shoveling that. I'm not cracking (or lying). I have no reason to do either. Everyone jumped at me being guilty because I said "elf". I explained why. Feel free to lead a charge on me, but be prepared to take the blame when it's revealed that I'm being truthful.

Thats actually a very clever post indeed there..Luring people into a response to what their PM's said..very clever tactic indeed HN...

No cleverness needed and I don't really care what other PMs said. I have a hunch about your's though.

The confusion lies in the fact that his question doesn't make sense to me.... where did I suggest trying to lynch an innocent?

...IMO that merits discussion, especially on Day 1 when there's not much else to go on at this point.

You state here that in your opinion it warrants discussion? that means you must be concidering it as you have nothing else to go on, on day 1..

Absolutely not....I believe that I was the first one to come out against the idea. Read below.

Here are my thoughts....

After day 3, we will know Blitzen's status (townie or scum) for sure:

- If a townie turns up dead from the Blitzen bomb, Blitzen remains an innocent.
- If no dead townie from the Blitzen bomb, Blitzen has gone to the dark side.

Either way, we'll know their status. A pre-emptive strike really doesn't make sense IMO, as we'll be looking for a townie at this point.... Makes more sense to look for scum, and let Blitzen worry about Blitzen for the time being.

I would disagree. The idea was proposed that we lynch an innocent early, in hopes of preventing them from becoming scum down the road...some may consider that anti-town. IMO that merits discussion, especially on Day 1 when there's not much else to go on at this point.

I find it interesting that you're not interested....

Highlighted in red above was the reason why i questioned you on that, slightly conflicting...post #60 you say it does not make much sense, but then in post #90 you say it warrants discussion?

Hmmm, KoTD and Kuhli hasn't said much except that they had a lot of reading to do. And aren't JMax and LG and/or DD usually going at each other by now?

There's no harm in discussing Blitzen, but like I said, if they don't voluntarily come out then there's not much we can do besides give them our opinions.

Blitzen is a guaranteed innocent until night 2 or 3, when they have to deliver their lump of coal which will either kill an innocent or cause Blitzen to become scum...

Blitzen will likely be playing it straight townie, at least for the first 2-3 days, as it doesn't make sense for them to do otherwise. With that fact in mind, are you guys (Ice & CL) suggesting we lynch the least scummiest people on days 1 and 2? How else would you propose we intentionally lynch Blitzen (short of them being discovered by Santa, and Santa revealing themself to the town)?

I think if you read between the lines a little bit, you'd realize that it's not so much a discussion (at least on my part) as to whether we should go after Blitzen. I've already stated we shouldn't... It's more of a discussion to figure out WHO wants to go after Blitzen. As long as folks keep saying, 'Yeah, we should really consider killing Blitzen,' I'll keep jotting their names down, which doesn't really make the topic pointless....

because folks more interested in hunting Blitzen than scum, are themselves scummier in my eyes than those intent on actually hunting down scum....

Out of all those posts the only one that mentions lynching an innocent is talking about discussing it not doing it. I see this as a trap laid down which Mad points out in later posts when he says looking for WHO wants to kill. The one post in question kept that discussion alive to find the evils.

Niko is looking like a pretty strong vote candidate at this time.

Still would like Andis explanation of why she would ask anyone if they were Santa.

I noticed those two as well as LadyG being awefully quiet.. Is giving me pause on her actually based on the last several games I have played.

How funny would it be if Rb put all 3 on the same team just so he didn't have to look at a bunch of arguing while looking for votes.
