Do you think it's ok to use UVS?

I'd advise to only use one when there is an issue or in QT tanks. They will remove the good from the water as well as the bad so i don't feel they are wise to use 24:7 in a display.

Yah..., i had the same filling..., even if I found recomandations for using of it. I planed to use it just for about 6 hours a day in my display. I dont have a QT yet.

Why 6 hours a day?

Spend the money on a QT tank instead. I feel it is more important as a basic piece of your success than the UV will be.

QT tank is the best way forward...for fish and coral. If I was going to use one at all it would be on the QT to support the focus of the QT - to get rid of potential problems and be able to observe the behavior of the new fish.

Is not a bad idea SY... at least you have only good ideas. But how can i keep this QT empty (w/o fish or other live), and use it only when is necesary...??? can you post a pic of your setup of QT, just for idea... pls.

I don't have my camera at home right now but I'll post it when I can. For now though, I keep filter media in my sump and use it to help cycle the QT tank when I need to use it. When it isn't in use it is cleaned and stored. In my Advice to Newbies link below you'll also find a blog post on QT tanks.
