ok so i just got my new magnum 350 pro system!!! i WAS so EXCITED! but then i plugged it in...the very first time it was SILENT i almost cried becuase i was so happy....then i noticed it was leaking...so took off the lid and refit the o ring...and woo woo it didnt leak. but the noise and air problem started. i have picked it up turned sideways and i dont know what to do anymore...im so mad and dissapointed that i want to throw it out!!!!! the whole reason of getting this thing was to keep up with my cichlids and to have a silent filter! so can anyone tell me how to get the air out? i think it will stop the noise...or at least i hope. thanks for any help you can give.

Pop off the top, dump a bit of the water, re-prime, and fire it back up? My XP3 does that from time to time... its a pain in the butt.

While making sure the discharge outlet is completely covered with water, cycle the filter on-off, waiting 10-15 seconds in between start stops.

how many times is normal? or excessive? how many times do you normally do it? am i watching for the bubbles to come out the tube and into the tank? im sorry im just really really new to the hobby and everything. im sorry again if i am annoying.

No, not annoying. A Mag 350 doesn't need primed, provided you had it all but full at reassembly.

Two or three times should be sufficeint. After turning off, you should hear some gurgling and some bubbles come back out the suction tube.

While it is doing this, water is being drawn in the ouylet tube, that is why it has to be covered with water.

Each time you do it, the amount of bubbles should be less.

After doing it a few times, let it run...there should be some minor "hissing" as the small bubbles are being pushed thru and get out of the filter.

Ensure your isolation valves are fully open.
