lol Got me there, though yesterday after the post i looked at some more pictures and noticed a similar leaf pattern as one i have.. and today i looked at my plants and noticed that the purple on some leaves is being replaced with green..
hmm question.. How long does it take for plants to acclimate???
and my Vals at the moment dont look solid green but more or less darker green and somewhat transparent, is that bad???

has to do with lighting. if your getting a lot of light the leafs can change. i have had some duckweed thats purple.
i have the incandescent hood on my 10g with 2 14w bulbs..so im guessing that counts as 2.8wpg?!
I think that the ones with the purple undersides are the emersed form. Not really sure cause i haven't actually grown them emersed. But I do know that in submersed form they are all green. Atleast from my experience.

not sure, since those plants that i received that are grown in the emersed form were just moist in the bag.. others like grass, ludwigia and others were fully wet.. Who knows time will tell. But i have to say they do look really nice
The purple plant is the lobelia cardinalis. The plant you think is Rotala indica, is not R indica. It does not have round leaves like that.
Lobelia cardinalis has purple leaves when it is grown above water. Underwater it turns solid green. There is also two forms of Lobelia: standard aquatic and small form aquatic. The small form is a true dwarf form and has smaller, rounder leaves. What you have is the standard form which will grow to be over a foot tall. What you got also has no roots formed. They are cut stalks instead of being rooted. I hope you have lots of light, because it will take very bright light for it to form roots, otherwise those stalks will just rot away at the bottom.
