I have planned what I think is going to be a very calm and happy tank. I want fish that are easy to moderate in care needs and that will not kill eachother. My tank is a 75G with lots of live rock and average lighting. I will plan out the additional clean up crew soon. Let me know what you think of this fish-wish list. I do not want them all, but these are my choice fishes.

  • Pink Square Anthia
  • Bicolor Anthias
  • Gold Striped Maroon Clown Fish
  • Flame Angelfish or Koran Angle
  • Yellowtail Blue Damsel (2)
  • Hawaiian Spotted Puffer
  • Blue Hippo Tang
  • Sixline Wrasse

Pink Square Anthia
Bicolor Anthias
Not easy to care for at all, need fed several times a day in many cases.

Gold Striped Maroon Clown Fish
The most aggressive of all the clowns, I'd not consider it the right clown if you're going after a clam tank.

Flame Angelfish or Koran Angle
The Koran gets quite large, over a foot. I'd go with the flame.

Yellowtail Blue Damsel (2)
I'm just not a damsel fan. Not when trying to have a peaceful tank.

Hawaiian Spotted Puffer
Are you wanting inverts?

Blue Hippo Tang
OK, but expect that it will likely want a larger home as an adult

Sixline Wrasse
Should be fine, but add more passive fish before it.

D*mn Grins... you sure know how to tear a guys dreams apart! LOL kidding Thanks for the advice. Well the Flame, the Wrasse, and the Tang will be my first investments. I will work harder and plan out more fish... I really do want a peacefull tank filled with color and beauty... I cant wait to hear what other fish you would reccomend. P.S. I like mid sized fish.

big angels like the koran tend to get pretty big and mean....better with the dwarf species.....on the hippo i'd personally prefer the yellow tang....their hardier and have great personalities but thats just my opinion :)

Your opinion is appreciated. I just feel that the yellow is so so so common. They are prettythough, but my life partner and I both feel the yellow is overplayed.

As for the inverts... I want a maxima clam, a blue starfish, and of course a gorgeous enenome of some sort...

As far as the clam and anemone goes they require intense lighting and if you are talking about a blue linkia your tank really should be set up for at least 6-9 months before you attempt one

yellows tend not to suffer so much from ich and are generally a hardier fish.....also they are a much bolder fish than the hippo...which ever one you they are both cool fish.....tangs in my opinion are by far the best and beautiful of the marines.
