I just noticed this

a. The priority of night time happenings is:

Cooke’s Protection
Town Lynch
Watchman’s Protection
Pirate Hit
Untimely Deaths


The Pirates doctor can protect a pirate from a lynch according to this order, is it supposed to be this way Clown?

If so they could protect one of their own, but we'd know who it was and could get them the next day, but it buys them a day.

If its supposed to protect from the Guard then they should only be able to protect after the lynch.

Clown can we get a clarification on this?

I've been thinking more about it and since they can protect the same person twice and its before the lynch then they could actually buy 2 days for the pirates.

Now if the protection had to be sent in at daybreak and they could only protect the same person twice that would work. But in this set up its favoring the pirates heavily.

The Cooke will always know who the lynched pirate is and is easily able to move his protection to that person.

That may be what the guard's hit is for...But the guard only gets one hit, and he'd only be killing a pirate, not the ultimate target of Captain...

I've said since the beginning, this game HEAVILY favors the pirates...:headshake2:

You are correct in that assessment. However I feel that while this scenario may somewhat favor the pirates if you truely look over the complete rules there is somewhat of a balance in what was set up. You guys have to just break out of the mold of a standard mafia game.

I added a lot more but changed my mind as I thought it would be "cheating" to give you guys and some of the newer players actual advice on how to play this scenario. What I will tell you is break out of the mold of a normal mafia game people. While there are some simularities there are major differences in this game to a normal mafia game. There are players who are not grasping their roles completely and really need to do so. If they would it would balance the game out more towards the town.

When we are done however I would like everyone to post something that they feel would make this scenario better.

I agree. Look at me. Look at everyone who voted for Beth carefully...I know for a fact that at least one of them is innocent, but I'm sure there's a pirate or two voting against her as well.

I'm also concerned about the two or three players which voted alone on the "safe" bet. JM seems to be the most looked at of them this round, already tallying up several votes against him. Then there's Lupin who's been pretty much non-vocal, and MM who hasn't said much either.

*sighs* I gotta vote against someone in case my connection goes out, but no one really to vote against...the case against JM is just as strong as the case against myself, and I know I'm innocent. I ****ed up my first game and read beth wrong, I don't want to do it again.

And I just figured it out...I vote to make Bala walk the plank.

LOL, we all would like to lynch Bala at times!!!

I thought Grins was asking this because of Clowns descrip that the pirates went after a guy not on Beth. Then JM only named 2 or the 3 men on Beth leaving you off. I thought it was pretty strange myself.

I wouldn't mind seeing some votes on JM also.

Only 7 players actually lynched Beth, which is why I'm not really sure there would be more then 1 or 2 pirates on Beth. As I said earlier Mal was quick to make it 3 players on Beth but then the voting slowed down and Mad jumped on to get the train moving again.

If HN had a chance to read over the thread and felt,as I did, that Beth was in fact innocent then why didn't he remove his vote?

I would like to add, I too wondered why Jmax would leave his name off.

As far as the Beth vote, there may of been a pirate or two on her, but there were enough ppl voting her, I'm sure they may of been on someone else. I think we should look at a few that kept talking about her, but their vote landed somewhere else.

HN, I would like to know that also, if you had time to look things over, and felt that Beth was innocent (even possible) why did you leave your vote there?

I think they way you went after Beth like you did, may show a little something also...as I've said, I've been on that side before...one of the biggest reasons I was waiting for my vote, I know how I have reacted to your badgering and how it made me respond and ended up being lynched as an innocent mainly due to you coming at me non-stop.

Yes, I failed to keep my names straight, and meant RB. RB voted for JM when no one else did last round, and seems to be the the most looked at last round.

Looks like RB is the hot pick early in day 2, and I'm trying to keep myself open to others...I just can't pull anything together today.

Lchap if you meant RB, then you need to retract your Bala vote and replace it...it will not count by you just stating that you meant RB.

jpappy789-(8) I do not know what to think of this "new" Pap, am not use to seeing such low posting (thoughts) from him, he is one that usually is out there questioning, accusing and digging, have seen none of that in this game.

rbishop-(9)Wow, I think we all know my feeling on RB, I love the fact we get to play with him...but he has said sooo many things that just are not right or do not add up. His vote on Jmax VERY questionable...and honestly makes me look at Jmax even more, I believe he may of been voting one of his own knowing she wouldn't go last night but if she went tonight or later before him, he could always pull that vote up to try and look good.

judgemax-(8)Her kinda "calling out" Ice last night right before night fall raised my suspicion of her GREATLY..made me think of the game where all the mafia fooled everyone, and she taunted me right before nightfall. Her post have been somewhat questionable.

Low posters and late to post...with minimal input added. Lady G is infamous lately for coming in in the middle of the night and make a ton of posts, all combined together, and expects every one else to to answer up...then if anyone questions her she explains how her RL issues don't allow her to post.

So when she reviews a thread and sees a few folks conversing and actually carrying the game for all the low posters and followers, she lumps them as evil team mates....That is just Lady....IMO

What does any of this have to do with her question???

Also, still waiting for you to show me a game where I didn't "late night" post, since you seem to be implying it is something new?

And excuse me, are you trying to say ppl are carrying my weight?? Show me a game also where I have been a low poster and needed my weight carried. HA-I follow no-one another thing I have never done...wow, if you are going to try and make me look suspicious, at least use evidence you can back up.

It's pretty rare that someone asks another player in the thread if they've maybe been out investigating. Usually something that would be called 'fishing for a power role'.

If you thought that Judge may have investigative powers, why would you want her to reveal that?

Because I think she is PirateMafia. From what Clown posted in #1 none of the pirate mafia are non-communicating and they will all be privvy to info from their pirate investigations.

Exactly. I don't think the mafia actually needed to vote for Beth. Enough of we townspeople were doing so that they were probably out on their ship rubbing their peglegs with glee at us doing their work for them. Could one of the votes against Beth be pirate, sure but I doubt it was the majority.

Because it was safe maybe? I also think he was nervous about LadyG calling his actions out for the town to see and he was trying to douse some of the heat by not voting against her. Much like him laying so low before nightfall when myself and others were questioning his motives and a vote could potentially be moved off of Beth...and onto him.

I don't want any of the innocents with roles to miss this one. Please ask BalaClown if you're unsure of your power so that you can help us avoid losing more innocents.

And um Clown, it would make it better if you'd maybe poison the pirate rum on occasion. :silly: At least put a sleeping potion in it so they sleep through a nightfall forgetting to vote.

That isn't explaining why you chose to vote for JM at that point when there were others that were posting far less..pretty much absent from the game.
