I was resaerching about flying foxes, and my book says that it was peaceful, and I could keep it with rasboras and tetras. so then I went to my lfs, and got one. when I got home, I decided toi look up additional things on the internet because I was very interested.:eek3: then, to my horror, it said that these will grow to a foot long, while my book says it will only grow to 3 inches! and then it also said that it will get agressive, and attack small fish! thewre are so many conflicting ideas! plz help! so far, it hasnt even touched my rasboras though. but it is only 3 inches so....

okay, but i noticed that this thred mainly talks about the SAE and not the flying foxes do you have any more info on these guys? how big will they grow? will they eat my rasboras? by the way, they are harlequinns.

The foot size is not for SAE's, Garras and flying foxes. You are talking about the Chinese Algae Eaters which indeed can reach 8 inches and above, are aggressive and can harm several fish due to constant harassments. May I ask where you got the information yuo posted in your first post?

uhhh I kinda forgot. I just googled it and looked for stuff. but how big will it actually get/ and will it stop eating algea when it grows? and I am talking about flying foxes, and not SAE

Then what kind of flying fox is this? Scientific name? Flying foxes do not reach 12 inches max. 6 inches is the max. Your post still sounded like you are talking about Chinese Algae Eaters.

wow thanks cauis i found out that I have the false siamese algea eater. and lupin, I am sure that it is not a chinese algea eater.I was talking about epalzeorhynchus kallopterus
