Blood worm serving method?

I always get a small bowl full of tank water and let the chunks thaw out in that. Once thawed, I go to each tank and swish enough water through the bowl to let some of the frozen food go over the side into the tank. Then its on to the next tank.

I put the cubes in a large shot glass with some tank water and sit it on top of my light hood until thawed...brings new meaning to "eat the worm":grinyes:

:iagree:

I'd do sometehing like this with frozen brine shrimp, thawing them and then pouring them back into the tank in a line to spread them out.

It was like a feeding frenzy in Jaws. :omg:

i take the freeze dried ones and press them to the inside of the tank, press all the air out and they will stick. the fish then come peck at it untill they soak up water and go everywhere. thats what the jar my come in say to do.

This is a good idea -- to make them stick to the side of the glass....after they unstick do they sink?

As for frozen worms, those tend to float too. Another customer at petsmart told me she solves that problem by putting the thawed worms in a brine shrimp net and swishing that through the lower part of the water -- I've tried that and it gets the worms lower for the middle feeders.

I don't soak freeze dried bloodworms. I just feed straight from the container.

I get the single serving frozen type, thaw them out in warm tap water, open the seal on the little gum drop type packet and serve them with a tooth pick slowly to the frenzied crowd in the tank.

Are you sure your not talking about Tubifex Worms that come freeze dried in cubes? This is what folks do with those, for freeze dried blood worms they are normally loose and I dont see how you could press them to stick to the tank side?

my bad, you are right, it is tubifex worms that i stick to the glass. :footinmouth:

I soak the freezedried ones for my fish in my 36g since I have some bottomdwellers soaking them helps them settle to the bottom so they can feed on them as well as my other fish.

So just soak them in some tank water and they will sink right away? Dojo doesn't go to the surface.
