can't i just use (1) Using Established Bio-Logical Filter Media, how do i create ammonia, do i just throw something dead inside or just let the goldfish make a mess then take him out
what is a deco and substrate
Deco is decorations, substarte is a fancy word for the sand or gravel. You can either create your own ammonia by letting something rot in the tank or you can buy ammonia dirt cheap at a hardware store. If buying ammonia, do not get the lemon scented or the one with surfactants or detergents. You are not trying to clean glass, you are trying to feed bacteria.

if you keep the goldfish in there throughout the cycle, make sure that you are keeping an eye on the ammonia levels. Keep it under .25 ppm by doing water changes when it gets too high.

dont be lulled into the false sense of security with a cleaning crew. too many people think they can just throw in some cories, snails, and shrimp to take care of the mess when they arent just scavengers...cories especially need to be fed.
in a FW tank, there really is no need for a cleaning crew...a gravel vac in essentially all you need

You need to get rid of the Bala Shark ....they can get 12-14 inches long when full grown
oh 4 real my brother told me that the LFS people they dont grow to big.
