How to become a Mod?

we don't take sides which is of utmost importance, ILB, everyone has feelings when seemingly targeted, don't you agree? I think here, I know I am more wondering why being a mod equates to very low self-esteem. I thought I was fine... and wonder what would bring one to such a judgement.

I'd say that the fact they asked what it meant rather than reacting to it as many might shows that they didn't let their feelings get in the way.
