its hard to tell with out more info. first how is your water quality? was it eating? was it being bothered by other fish in the tank?

Water is great:
Ammo - 0
Trites - 0
Trates - 10-15
Water changes approximately 2x per week

They were all scavengering for flakes that hit the bottom, they eat my sinking wafers, algae wafers (unless the bushy nose comes out). I have never seen them bothered at all. They even school with the Julii.

With that said, it was a little smaller, and there was a small discoloration on the belly. What are common illnesses with these types of cats? How can I prevent this in the future if possible?

I've had good and bad luck with pandas. In tanks with no live plants I've done well, but in well planted tanks they don't seem to do all that well. Not sure if it's just the extra vegetation in the water (Some of which is in a state of decay no matter how much I prune). Pandas are very tough cories to keep. I have just thrown my hands up and gone with Matae's or Arcuatus. Similar patterns but much heartier...GL with your Pandas...

Sorry to hear about your fish. I have never had good luck with pandas but great luck with other cories. I have read that they tend to be more prone to stress and disease.
