pics of aged/old tanks?

You mean like planted setups? or types of fish tanks? Fully setup tanks that haven't been changed for a while?

I think he's talking about tanks that have been cycled and running for more than a few years.

See my avatar. That tank has been up and running for about 8 years. At one point it was a planted African tank. Yeah I said that. Brichardi and yellow labs. Then something wiped everything out in a very short order except a school of tiger barbs.

Had this old 45 gallon show tank that was planted with angels and tetras. I combined everything into the 55 about 3 years ago.

Bunch of amazon swords and crypt wentdii. 4 angels, school of tiger barbs, school of serpaes, some cories, couple of Clown Loaches, SAE, couple ottos, and 3 dwarf gouramis.

One of the angel fish in there is more than 5 years old.

yeah, like Ellen said, tanks that have been running for more than a few years that are still basically the same as when they were started... planted tanks or even tanks with fish if they're that old.

i suspect people may not have really old tanks because they either eventually die (most likely the fish of old age) or people just get bored and deconstruct a tank to start over...

See my avatar...

cool tank. so basically, that current setup is 3 years old? established tanks like that are what i'm looking for. partly out of curiosity to see how long an aquarium environment can be sustained. thanks for the pic.

I doubt your going to find anyone with a FW tank that has the same look for more than 6 months, let alone years.

For instance, I went from standard 20g, fake plants, gravel and a small HOB, to what it is now,

medium planted, with CO2, Sand, more light and a DIY filter.

Older Tank

I have a 29 gallon perfecto tank that is approximately 18 years old. The way the tank looks know is how it has been set up for the last 15 years. Of course all the fish in the tank are not that old. Plants have been added, but the general setup of the tank (ie. driftwood, rocks, pea gravel and half of the plants) has remained the same. Out of all my tanks, this is probably my favorite.
