i have heard they are the hardiest to cycle my tank with.well i brought them home and acclimated them then waited 15min to add the some tank.after i added them they were really flying around the tank.Well my question are they really this active or is something wrong? My guppy seems to be acting weird ever since i added them.He has been rubbing his body on the gravel at least that what it looks like to me.Any suggestions to why he is doing this he has been eating well

danios are very active fish. I've experienced this to be normal behavouir for them. As far as the other fish scratching itself against things, it may be sick, but just watch it. My fish sometimes do this from time to time. As long as it's not a constant thing.

First of all, is this a 10g? Danios may be active but they also happen to require a lot of swimming space which is not viable in a 10g. What are your water parameters right now? Stop adding any more fish. It seems clear to me that the danios have been introduced in the tank without being quarantined. While fish do scratch from time to time, I can sense something is really wrong the way you described your situation. Keep a close watch on your fish. Ich is a possible cause. What is the temperature right now? Please monitor your water parameters closely and do water changes if your ammonia and nitrites soar above 0.25.

well i will be getting a 17G will that be enough.I know your suppose to quarantine fish but i dont have the room to do so i inspected the fish for fungus and pests did not see any so i added the fish
That is not enough. You cannot see the pathogens affecting the fish. Even healthy fish can be carriers of certain diseases. There is another thought that I forgot to add in my first post. The danios may have stressed the guppy enough to make the possible ich appear. Both should never be mixed. Your best bet? Get another tank and place the danios there. Leave the guppy in his own tank.

well the zebra danio dont even bother the guppy.well i was told by alot of people here that using danio to cycle my 10G would be good now i buy them and its not?
It's your guppy that is the concern right now. You already have a fish to cycle the tank therefore adding the danios was not necessary. I would like to add that the danios are very active and such activity level causes most placid fish to get stressed out.

I added 3 giant Danios to my 49g tall along with cherry barbs, assorted tetras, corys, and the rest in my sig. All my fish are very active except for the algae eater. Will I have any problems with not quarantine the fish? Another question what does quarantine do for the fish? I also herd the tiger barbs are good fish to use to cycle. Oh and thx for the good info Lupin. Also a message to Fishy remember, an inch per gallon. You have a 10g tank you should only have 10ins of fish.
