I was told by an "unreliable source" that i need a few thousand lbs of pressure... becuase aquarium manufacturers have machines that press the glass pcs together all at once with major force...
lol.
i'm hoping to prove that I dont need to smash the glass together.
hmmm... well when i was a kid... i remember my mom making a tank.. ie: cutting and gluing glass... and i dont remember any glass smashing or machine pressing...
i also dont remember ever seeing that tank with water in it...
Do not use extreme pressure, which will force too much sealant out, then you just have to clean it up. It is more important to have true and smooth edges. A typical band clamp is fine, and the placing of the glass with minimal shifting is of high concern.
Work quickly and ensure the sealant doesn't start to skim over before filleting on the inside.
