****. Thank you so much Coler.... That makes my head swell about 3x its normal size but I'm no where close. Amano's tanks give off an aura man. I'm not kidding.

And then when I lurk over in the PlantedTank Forum in the aquascaping section, I realize I've got a long way to go.....but you know...your wallet can only take you so far.

And while I love Amano. I only use his soil. I can't afford anything else. And besides there are companies in Japan who make, believe it or not, higher quality tanks and products than ADA . Kotobuki, Nisso, to name just two. I also learned from an inside source that all the products come from the same factory!

I have a personal "Aquascaping 道 "(sorry the English eludes me now...but essentially I'm trying to say.... The Way of the Aquascape) which is... "I can/will try to make gorgeous layouts with themes without using expensive ADA goods." And in that, I am diligent and always on the grind. But I do use his diffusers and soils because they are the best. However, GEX's ichiban Sand, is pretty top stuff and is used by many aquarists in Japan.

I was reading a post about Anxiety and Compulsive disorders and fishkeeping on this site. And I suffer from anxiety disorder. Which, right now, I think is the reason I fret so much over the quality of the layouts. And I am constantly on the grind. However, luckily my wallet and wife keep me in check. Not to mention my dogs. While I am attached to my fish, they still come second to the plants and the overall look....

I think I am rambling....blame it on the carton of sake I just finished up this evening. Because Tank Maintenance goes hand in hand with drinking Sake....

lol, mmm drinking and fish husbandry lol. BUT ONLY A HOUR!!! I would have been arrested at that place. I would have never left till they maced me. I wanna have my first born right there around all those top 10 tanks lol. Thankyou for sharing the pictures, I really thankyou.

The weather outside was frightful, but the Layouts inside were delightful....

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

My wife took me out the Nature Aquarium Gallery for my birthday today. My birthday is actually February 11th which is a national holiday here in Japan (Japan foundation Day) but since we'll both be pretty swamped with work in February we went today.... The weather was terrible.

I finally had the chance to Meet Amano sensei in Person. He really does have an aura about him. Kind of Scary and nice
at the same time. Those of you who've met him now what I mean. His disciple was also scared to bother him, but I begged
the little guy to ask him. Amano sensei was preparing for a photo shoot at the time and was pretty busy. But being that
close I had to try. When he came over my throat went all dry and I could barely speak though. So my wife did all the talking.

As usual a lot of breath taking layouts. They didn't change much from last year. I got the new ADA BOOK (black cover this year, pretty cool except that fingerprints easily show up) I bought a ADA pin for Y500円. Really geeky button type pin that says "ADA NATURE AQUARIUM GALLERY" on it. I immediately pinned it to my sweat shirt and vow to wear it everyday.

Today's mystery.... I searched for heaters in all of the tanks... couldn't find them... But the temp inside is ridiculously hot and humid....

Anyway...Enjoy the photos...

After driving 4 hours to Niigata and 4 hours back (and only an hour at the gallery!!) I'm swamped. Forgive the typos.....I'm going to sleep....

Great shots! Your informative feedback was great as well, as most of us probably haven't been to Amano's place!
