Cracked Plastic Frame on 55 Gal

Hi!
I recenty purchased a used 55 gallon tank. Unfortunately, I didn't look it over very well, and I noticed that the plastic frame is cracked on 2 of the upper corners. See pics below.

Is this a problem? I was thinking I could Gorilla Glue a right angled metal bracket around these corners to maintain streuctural integrity. Do you think that would work?

Your best bet might be to just get a new frame....you can get one here:

Could get alittle pricey with shipping...but still cheaper than a new tank....and or alot of water damage due to tank failure.

I agree with the above.Just replace the frame its pretty easy to do.

The frame does'nt really do much. As long as the silicone is all right you'll be fine. IMHO. Go ahead and put some glue on it though.

I was thinking of gluing an right angled bracket to those corners, not just gluing over the crack. I can't imagine that it wouldn't be sufficiently strong.

On the other hand, replacing the frame would look nicer. Nate, you say it is easy. What does it entail? I kind of thought it might be difficult.

I did! I will post a pic of the fix tonight. I glued metal brackets on the corners, and the tank has been filled with water for about 3 weeks.
