When you get a light thats way different in wattage than your current one, careful with how long you have it on. Especially if you dont have that many plants + tons of light = possible algae bloom. So if you add plants try and add as many as you can at once.

if you dont wish to go with the diy lighting then you can search the web for coralife aqualight 65w
this site had it @ $55 before have no idea why they raised the price.. Try searching bigals, they also had one for around $57 but i cant seem to find it, try calling them up im sure they probably still have them in stock.

this one looks promising the only thing it asks is you do nor put it under a hood.well i have snails and they will crawl out.would i have to buy a glass canopy?

cover the tank with mesh or glass so the snails can't get to the light.
