Snails outcompeting snails

My ramshorns and pond snails and MTS all live together (with shrimp). I got about 5 rams, and now there's a whole bunch in my tank. The rams were added after my MTS and pond snails.

Some depends on how you feed. I keep MTS and Mystery (brigsii) snails together without problems. I target feed the mystery snails and let the MTS act as garbage cleanup. Works great.

How long has this been running? Most of the posters here seem to notice a similar hierarchy of snail species. Any secrets you care to share?

Spot feeding individual ramshons would probably be more trouble than it's worth. I do plan on getting some spixis and brigs soon though. I used to keep them both in other tanks. It's reassuring that you guys have no issues with them cohabitating peacefully with trumpets.

About four to five months. I have a lot of plants and I just throw food in the tank in the morning to feed my shrimps and everyone else comes in for a meal too. So nothing too special. My pond snails are the least abundant I think, but they're always at the top usually among the duckweed roots, and I remove lots of duckweed every week or two, so maybe thats why there's not as many.

I've noticed it's MTS -> Ramshorns -> Trapdoors in my own tanks. The MTS just gets to food a lot quicker, and usually crowds out other snails from getting any to eat.

Wish it worked that well for me.

Seems to me there shouldn't be out competing for food. The snails are not being fed enough plain and simple.

I probably feed too much. The MTS sure seem to be thriving.

don't MTS eat other snail eggs?

This was one of my thoughts/concerns. I don't see ramshorn eggs anymore.

This appears to be the case for me. I have way too many trumpets now. I think I'm going to have to cull the heard some.
