Is there an easier way to make a WC?

what i do to refill is that i put my arm in the tank under the flow of the bucket. that way the water deflects off my arm and spatters over a wider area, thus making it a little less disruptive.

if i got a python i would be able to just run the hose with warm water into the tank and then add conditioner and theyd be fine? because large WCs are quite a pain in the *** sometimes....

Yes - many people just dump enough Prime into the tank (after removing the desired amount of water) to treat the tank's entire volume, then refill using tapwater & Python.

I'm with the bucket brigade. Can't just dump it in due to very low ph out of the well.

how are you able to syphon the water into your tank, my problem is that
dumping the water in from such a height disturbs everything in the tank, uproots my plants makes holes in gravel , scares the fish
I have this big decoration ( looks like a deak stading log) and when I pour the water in the tank I pour it over that, it works like a charm. no disturbance at all. I use a 5 gallon garbage can, it works so well as its not round by long and there for is easier to carry for me and to dump in.

Yoda by chance? Wow ...

Rosita you and bigspazz have been truely helpful. I appreciate your help :wall:

But to all others that posted ... thanks! I figured the Python was the best/easiest way but I wasn't sure. The hoses I didn't mind as much as the water mess on the bathroom sink. I guess I should have been more specific.

Thanks to the two funny/useless posts up top, I will make sure I ask in other forums so as not to ask a "stupid" question in the future.

If you are referring to my post, I definitely resent your comment. You asked if there was aneasier method and I truthfully answered you what could be easier.

Nobody took your question as stupid? Sense of humor anybody....?

anyways, a python is pretty easy, a lot easier and defaintly not as messy as buckets :]

Any pics of this?

No pictures available. The system incorporates water lines which trickle filtered but unsoftened water and RO water into one of my prefilters, a submersible pump in the filter sump that pumps excess water to the sump pump in the basement and two float switches, one of which turns the pump on at the high water level and the other turns it off at the preset minimum. For more information PM me and we'll talk. Next I want to set up a storage container, with a pump and hose, to hold the excess aquarium water to use to water my house plants.

I would do anything for a Python but can't get one around here unless i go for a 3.5 hour drive to the next biggest city. I would say just be happy you have one...i'm still syphoning the water out into 2- 5 gallon pales and going back and forth from the sink.
