today I just purchased a new sunclral. After acclimating to my tank, it opened up right away. So i decided to feed it. I fed each polyp individualy, but they kept on opening up again. So my question is, how will I know when to stop feeding it? Also, when I went to the lfs, I saw a dendro. I asked them how much it was only to be told that it was not for sale! It was so unfair!

I don't have one, but I've heard to feed it one piece of mysis per head. There are a couple of sun coral keepers on here and maybe they can be more specific as my information has been purely research only.

In the begining I spot fed mine so that each head would get some food for the first two weeks to give it a boost. After that I spot fed it twice a week and then it would get some of the floating food from the other fish when I fed them. I have since fragg'd mine and with the same feeding pattern is sprouting new heads on each frag. Hope that helps.

I spot feed mine twice a week with a mixture of coral frenzy, mysis and krill. I tend to feed in 2 stages. I use a baster to get as many individual heads as I can, let them digest it and then do it again after about 10 mins. Am I overfeeding - no idea but I've got baby sun corals popping up all over my tank!

I'd say do less volume and more often
