pleco, want to find one that will go with tank mates

I have found that bristlenose will not go in my tank, my fish may be to agressive :( ( see sig) So what other pleco can I get for my fifty five gallon ? I can not afford an expensive one, but I want one !! my boy fell in love with a pleco at the orthodontist office, but it was so sad as he was huge and the tank was a 20 gallon. I told them that pleco was in to small of a tank, they just say ok well its not our fish, its the otehr doctors .
anyways is there suck a pleco that grows about 8 inches and thats it?
 
why wouldn't a bristlenose go in there? i see no problem. . . also an 8" pleco is really pushing it as far as total bioload in that tank.

in my other posts I was told no, that my fish were to agressive , so you think a pleco ( bristlenose ) will go in my tank? I got an email to that says he did not think it was wise. I am confused. I would love to have one, in each tank!
 
i think the 55 is safe for a bristlenose, provided there are ample hiding places - same as would be necessary for a pleco in the most peaceful of tanks. they just need caves to hide in. you could also put one in the 29, but not in the 10. not only is it too small, but my bn's like to eat baby snails. my 150g contains angels, severums, and honduran red points (a less aggressive convict cousin), and there are no problems with aggression or territories. feed the pleco at night so the other fish do not eat all of the food, or feed mostly vegetables which the others will not be interested in enough to steal.
 
a bristlenose would be fine in a 55g. problem is you have way too many cichlids.
 
I have a BN pleco in a 55 with African cichlids. Overall, they're more aggressive than firemouths, severums, etc. He's been there over a year, keeps the tank spotless as far as algae or diatoms are concerned. The tank had loads of rocks for cover, and the pleco is nocturnal. I rarely get a glimpse of the beast, but occaisonally I'll see his ugly mug peering out of the rocks.

Not really, the 2 males are less then 2 inches long. and 1 is going to be rehomed soon as there fighting some.
Ok, so I want a bristlenosed bad now :) thank you, all of you for your answers :)
