My stock. Just wondering if I might have overdone it

2 Silver dollars (Metynnis argenteus)
15 Neon tetras
3 Dwarf gouramis
10 Cherry barbs
7 Zebra danios
3 Red platies
1 Salt & pepper corydora
1 Bristlenose pleco

Sporting 42 fish in my 55 gallon. They are all getting along very very well. No aggression. Water filtration is approximately 120 gallons of water, plus 2 live plants hornwort and anacharis. Enough to support?

???

I smell a specific word coming along here......:devil: Heh...or are they really fine together. Be honest! Agreed?
 
The peppered cory might be a lil lonely... (Not saying get more, just that he might prefer company).
 
One more, perhaps? :D This is kinda like my final fishload. Quite the colourful with the 3 type dwarf gouramis. Neon blue, common, and flame. The neon dwarf likes me xD!and the red platies;they make the tank more vibrant :).Except I need to make my tank more green & livelier with real plants..maybe ones of those grass-looking aquatic plants..I need some java moss and fern. Lol I'm somewhat far from done. It aint fishy anymore;it's planty time...

First off, I do not know much about stocking of all types of fish, but thought I would just add input from what I have read and not have had personal experience.

I think of anything, the Two Silver Dollars might be pushing it in a 55 with all the other fish, but I am not so sure. Also, it is my understanding is that Cories do best in groups, if anything you might want to get a few more of them.

I think with proper filtartion and regular water changes you should be good, esp with the plants.

I am sure someone else will jump in. It is about bio-load, I have learned that. For the record, most of my tanks would be considered overstocked.

Well, I know for a fact Silver dollars are actually known to get randomly big, not like the pacus or whatever, But I think mine will grow to a proper size. It's really confusing me, really..! "SD's size this" and "SD size that", "they are suitable in this 20 gallon", then no, "30 then larger and going" WHA. Mass hysteria. I WILL hope they will grow only 4 inches as max. Annnnd


These should be maximum sizes of these fish I have.

2 Silver dollars 4 inch or maybe 5 inches.
15 Neon tetras 1 inch
3 Dwarf gouramis 2 inch
10 Cherry barbs 2 inch
7 Zebra danios 2 inch
3 Red platies 1 and a half inch
1 Salt & pepper corydora 2 and a half inch or 3 inch
1 Bristlenose pleco 4 inch
 
Also, if you're going with live plants I've heard that silver dollars love to eat them. Agree on the cories. I have experience with them and you should have groups of at least 5 with some hiding spots - caves - plants etc...
 
5 Corydoras? I see. Surely next week I will go back to my LFS and see what I can catch up. Thanks for all the suggestions. Appreciate it. My Silver dollars do not devour my live plants at all. I'm happy ^_^. I'm thinking of attaching java fern and moss to my driftwood as seeing my Driftwood has many holes, the java fern would perfectly attach onto my driftwood. But I need to start planting them on gravel rather than wood lol -_-.
