well, grannylvsfish shut me up :D

no LOL! I am sorry, :grinyes: did not mean to,:grinyes:

before you actually buy the pack think to yourself if you will actually want them in the future. It was fun watching all bulbs grow (2 out of 6 didnt make it) and i previously posted in other thread show what came out after a month.. well now all the plants are 4-5x that size and though some look nice the aponogeton takes over the tank quickly (atleast for me). from the bulbs what i have now are 2 aponogetons one around 11" other around 23"+ with 5 flowers that bloomed.. And i have 2 dwarf lilies (Nymphaea Stellata) that are just growing crazy big brown leafs.. looks nice but would probably suggest it more for a big tank since these plants will tend to block some light..
yes, I have a big deep tank, 2 acually, so I want them. hey, they sound cool and though they grow for only a small amount of time, they grow fast and look good. I just wanted to pop some in my tank every so often to keep them going.
I found some today, $4.00 for 5  I hope they grow !!! we shall see, but I do want more, more more!!! :)

the price is just about what i paid for mine..
Try placing them half way in the gravel, for me the ones that were half way in the gravel grew roots after 30 days and those that werent in gravel and were just on top of it their growth was very delayed.

did yours float? mine are now in the tank and floating. so I plant them already? ok, thanks I hope they sprout roots! they looked pretty small and dried up LOL!

if you have what looks like an onion plant bulb careful with that, mine rotted after a few days. If you do put them in your substrate only put it half way untill you see roots.. but that will take a month so for now can just ignore them

I bought 3 of those packs at my local Wally world. Total cost was closer to $10 anbd after about 6 weeks, one plant is growing. The rest of the bulbs look like they might make good compost except that the grower garantees them to grow within a month and I was careful to keep the receipt. I will be shipping them to the grower soon to get my replacements.

I had experience with these.. my local Petsmart as well as my walmart both carry these. Each pack has at least 4 for $3.50 I think. I had around 10 bulbs awhile ago. Two started to grow in less then a week. 2 Weeks later, 2 more sprouted and a month later, 2 more sprouted. 2 months after the already 2.5m, two more sprouted.

I guess two were bad.

BTW, I burried them in the substrate. I guess it helped the grow. I eventually gave them to my friend when they got too big. Man!, they had a large root system.

wow thanks for the info, I hope my bulbs root!

I bought a pack of them from wal mart nearly 2 years ago. 2 of them grew and the other 4 didn't. One has grown huge and stayed the same size for well over a year. The other has stayed smaller. This tank is a 20g high. Heres a pic of them.
