i dont dose or use ferts. I dont even have any fish yet. I leave my lights on for 12 hours a day.lighting is 48" Single Satellite Compact Fluorescent Fixtures Dual Phosphot SmartPaq (10,000K daylight and 460 nano meter actinic)

Plants have been 2 amazon swords 1 wisteria. My plants i orderd from mgamer came today all looking nice. They are

2 Java Moss
3 Anacharis
2 Water Sprite
2 Dwarf Saq

so if im leaving my lights on 2 long what do you recommend for hours of lighting.

Black out or cut back on light? im not sure what type of algae it is. Id go to plantgeek.com and check its really good.

theres 2 dual bulbs both say 65watts so i dont know if that means each bulb is 65watt or for each two is 65watts

this is what the bulbs say

model# 2035 FT65w Smartpaq www.current-usa.com

edit: made a post at plantgeek.com

your lighting is 130w
Just decrease the hrs the light is on.

thanks
and that will kill the algae or at least stop it from spreading?

that is the hardest algae to get rid of, in my limited experience. I haven't had luck with blackouts, at least long term... manual removal helps control it. flag fish are known to eat it. mine does, but not enough to put a dent in it... limit feeding, manual removal, blackout, and excel may all help... but nothing has eliminated it for me.
