"For mature aquariums only"

Thanks for the information, folks. I thought it was something like that. :)

I agree wholeheartedly with the explanations of what a mature aquarium is. However, I can tell you from first hand experience that I set my sidthimunki herd up in a brand new tank with brand new gravel and some old, some new plants, and an established filter and they are thriving! And when these buggars arrived stone cold due to heat pack failure and barely moving, and me sobbing hysterically, I hit the fish bag with a room heater at work (since I had to take delivery there) and once the water warmed up they were like a swarm of bees with activity and they haven't skipped a beat! And when I say cold water, I mean cold water!

And when I say cold water, I mean cold water!

Whew! Good thing they're tough little guys! :headbang2:

How many would you think would make a good school for a 40g tank housing (perhaps) 3 colisa fasciata, 6-8 red-stripe rasboras, and 8-10 zebra danios? Would they conflict with Kuhli Loaches?

Oh, now I get it.
When I saw the subject line of this thread, I thought it was going to be about nekkid fish or something.

That's in the secret "moderators only" forum. :hitting:

If you mean competition for food, it depends what foods you are giving them. I don't see how these surface and middle dwellers can conflict with the kuhlis.

Sorry, I was unclear.

What had in mind was whether sidthimunkis and kuhlis would compete for the same niche and possibly conflict.

I belive sidthimunkis do not restrict themselves to the bootom of the aquarium like kuhlis do. They are very active and swim all over. On the other hand, their activity might pose competition for the kuhlis whe it comes to food. But I am sure that it could work...
