friendly and non-aggressive in groups

I just loved my group of Chromis. . . they would do all kinds of cool stuff together. Like, often they would get in a tight ring and sink together to the bottom of the tank. They would hover there for a while then slowly rise and separate. Kinda like they were having a "group huddle" to discuss something. Anyway, I never thought they were boring.

And I was thinking the same thing as mentioned above, don't have a large group and you can more different species. But, my wife says she would like to have another group of Chromis because they were so cool. And I ultimately agree.

i dont want to be considered as a "hater" as i guess some would say, but i personally dont find what im looking for in a saltwater beauty in a chromis, which is why id like more colorful fish, but everyone has their own approach on things and if my chromis did do that id have to say its a beautiful thing to have. your a lucky keeper.

i know ive done alot of reading on them. the temperature and water parameters are very key into having success with them. they are awesome creatures to have though. its so cool to feel a seahorse wrap around your finger :)

Oh, yeah. If they're not for you then they're not for you. Plus, they are rather bland in color. I really wish there was a really active fish that schooled together in the home aquarium as well as the Chromis. I don't care for the Cardinals because they just seem to float there.

I've kept many pairs of fish before such as gobies (neon's, golden head sand sifter, rainfordi), clowns, cardinals, red scooter blenny's & Royal Gramma's. Make sure their paired at your lfs before adding just any two because their likely going to fight to the death if not.

If your looking to add more than a pair look at firefish & zebra-bar gobies, besides the ones mentioned in this post. I would personally not add a group of Bangaii cardinals because after they mature at around 9 months they will pair off and start killing the rest.

Most people don't have good luck with anthias, but a small school of dispar's would be quite impressive.

There are lots of nice cardinals out there... Pajamas look nice...

- Dwarf puffer
-Yellow tang
- 2 clownfish (my only group)
- Coral Beauty angelfish
- Yellow hogfish
- Rainsford goby
