I dont want to make this long because I'm still quite upset BUT just a warning to all......When selling items on ebay, aquabid (that arent living), here, there...PLEASE PLEASE for the love of god package the item carefully...I won't mention names or anything but in the past 3 months I've had items shipped to me that ended up at my door step broken. Nothing all that serious it was fixable but I brought the item not broken. Now I know most of you are going to say I can't afford peanuts or plastic bubbles whatever....use newspaper, paper towel, ANYTHING. All I'm trying to say is take that extra step to make sure the item is packaged safely if you go that extra step you will have happy customers..which will USUALLY turn into a returning customer. Just my 2 cents

Well, it could be the handling by the carrier...

i try, when packaging, to make it so that the contents can not move within the packing even if shaken. Sorry to hear your things were broken.

You are absolutely correct that the item should be packaged correctly. Most people are willing to pay a little extra to ensure the item is shipped properly. Most of the time it is not the carrier that caused the problem, just the packing itself. I usually ask people when I am unsure how the will ship the item. If they are not going to pack it before I purchase. Bubbles, peanuts, airbags are needed when shipping fragile items. The other issue is the box size, you need to have enough room for shock absorbsion....which newspaper and that type of packing just won't help with...
My thing is that if it arrives broken and it wasn't when I purchased it, I return it. Using paypal or cc will allow you to return even if the seller says they don't take returns. If they caused the issue, then they get it back.
