My First Betta!

That fish is beautiful!

So this is how I made the Bamboo NOT float...Haha, hope this works.

That's so Zen! Haha! He should feel right at home!

very nice little betta - that black touch to the end of his fins seems to have cleared up.

did you ever think of putting some substrate in the tank & maybe a black or blue backgroun ?

I didnt want to get pebbles, but I actually am thinking on getting medium sized small flat stones to place at the bottom, the kind that come in a little pack in a net, I saw some nices ones at the store. I should get a background shouldnt I?! I think I'll do that. :) I plan on moving Hattori into a bigger temporary tank too, so more room! Yay

excellent!

yes some stones and what not would be nice; I don't know though if bettas like to dig around in sand.

a plain blue or black backgroun (literally prop some card cut to size behind the tank) will really make him pop out.

Very unique betta ive never seen one like that!

The bamboo is not fully aquatic. They do best with the leaves out of water, it can be in there a while though but will start to rot, just a heads up

Thanks, I'll try to prop it up part way out of the water then, Ive just gotta make sure the lid will stay on, haha. :)

So I just got back from the store, got one more bamboo, black stones, 2 backgrounds: Black and aqua plant scene to see which looks best. Ill post pictures soon.

Nice tank! This probably wont be your last betta... I started with one in a one Gallon tank, now I have a 10 Gallon Female Betta tank (4 Females), and a 2.5g with one Male. Its an addiction and it just builds from there.

Off topic, what kind of camera do you have, your pictures all come out very sharp.

I don't think bettas would like to mess around in sand since they can't eat off the floor very well with their upturned mouths.

That's a pretty fish!

I have one that was sold to me as a crwontail whose got very full fins but they are solid, not fringey like this one.

I got a second one recently with the same sort of fins as this one and it was sold to me as a splendens. I don't know much about their catagories, I just know PRETTY!
