just so confused on fish choice

.

If anything i like the lamarki i think they are very active my lfs had a 4 incher for 35 dollars but good luck on the choicei dont know how to ship fish because if i did my little clwon gobies would be there haha but good luck with finding a good fish

How 'bout a foxface rabbitfish? More visually dynamic than a yellow tang, and very peaceable.

I have a smaller Kole Tang and he's doing just fine in my 75g. I'm yet to see a larger version of this tang, so I don't know how they get along with this size tank. They don't seem to be as caffeinated as many other tangs, prefering to circle around rockwork than zip from one side to another. The only thing I don't like about this fish is that they're really pretty, but their dark colors make them hard to photograph well!

What about a trigger. I saw a Pinktail Trigger at my LFS the other day and was tempted. They're one of the few triggers that can be kept in a reef aquarium. Will usually ignore sessile inverts, but larger specimens may eat ornamental shrimps. But that is also said about some wrasses!

I'm still tempted but think I might be overstocked.

but with a foxface i'd be facing a reef risk just like with an angel. also i don't really want a yellow fish - so i'd be looking at a metallic which would cost more than i'd be willing to spend on a fish i'd be iffy about...

I have a magnificent foxface that does not touch or look at corals - have mostly LPS and some zoas, along with my Derasa clam. He'd eat about 50 nori sheets a day if i offered it.

I've always heard and read that they only nip at corals if they aren't being fed well at all - like a week away on vacation without food. I absolutely adore him. Well worth every penny I paid. :)

I knew there was another reason I couldn't have a Trigger - my Mandarin. They shouldn't be housed together.

None of the Xanthichthys triggerfish species should bother a mandarin or really compete that much with them, either. They are more interested in slightly larger planktonic fare.

I do love those blue cheek triggers. A local reefer has one and it's a really great looking fish. I think I'd have to deport a few of my current stock in order to get one though! Just be wary - they will grunt and occasionally spit at you!

can't get a trigger im afraid - not only because of my 2 shrimps (skunk cleaner and fire) but my precious little neon goby!

The fellow I know who has one shares the tank with a couple peppermints, 3 sexy shrimp, and a yellow watchman goby. Everyone is still present and accounted for!
