Mike, just as a side note, I'd rather you pick discus from your local breeders. I would not trust the LFS to stock discus. As yours have eyes disproportionately large for their body size, they may be stunted.

Thank you. The 2 white/red discus eat like a horse and I have noticed a small amount of growth and my "candy apple" was smaller than the 2 whites and is now the same size. I would have gone to a local breeder but the only one I know of is in mass which is 2.5 hours away from me. Is there anything I should look out for if they are stunted?

The other one is football shape when they should appear round. Fins should not be tattered or oddly disfigured. As far as the coloration, if it is dark or too bright, it may explain either stress or they were simply fed with hormones to enhance coloration which is IMO best avoided.

God I hate that! That should be outlawed! Is there any health issues I should be looking for?
