Synodontis Decorus kept in high PH at LFS, any chance of survival in PH Neutral tank?

395 for an eupterus?!?!

That's what I was thinking. Not even close to the coolest Syno out there. Wonder what an Angelicus or Multipunk would cost? I'm guessing you could get 1 of each or a used Toyota!?!?

I have 3 Syno's in my African tank. Multipunk ($30 - and was a STEAL!!!), Ocellifer ($20) and Decorus ($16). I have a male Multipunk and want to get a female but can't find them for less than $50 now....

As for the original question, if you love Decorus so much why not build the tank around that fish? Go with an African tank with crushed coral substrate and you will be just fine...

Decorus aren't a rift lake species, they're a river fish. They would adapt to the water well enough, but they do grow to over 12", and are a social species (unlike most large river Syno's). The price (in Oz) of a tank large enough for a group of them plus the fish would probably cover a late-model car, or at least a decent downpayment...

My tank wasn't that expensive, well compared to what you pay at the LFS. I got it from a local outlet, that make their own tanks.
My 60" x 24" x 28" (630 Liters) with cabinet and hood cost me $970 (AU).
And I just got my light, finally! YAY.
Which is a Metal Halide combo - 2x 150w MH (20000K), 2 x 39w Fluros, 4 x LED's...Cost me $735...(Almost the same price as my tank...lol)
Just a question, in relation to plants if anyone knows...is that combo sufficient to plant a good variety?
Anyway on the fish prices, if you are curious about Aussie prices check out www.livefish.com.au its probably the cheapest I have found for fish, ALOT cheaper than the LFS.

i payed a 100 euro for my 62"16"16". it just needed some gravel, plants and fish.Well i didn't buy it from a shop bought it from someone who wanted to get rid of it, he said 160 euro and i said 100 euro, and i think i won.It was either this tank or spend 200 euro for a 20 gallon tank.Don't know what kind of plants you want
