Does anyone know how to make the video go longer on a camera? My cam has video mode..but only records like 10secs... Is there a setting or something I can go to, to adjust it??

If you need to know it is a Canon powershot A550 7.1 pixels...

The cam's fixed video length is governed by the memory available G...It can record up to a maximum of 1 Gb file size of video ( or 8 minutes length )...I would probably say your near enough out of memory available on the mem card / internal memory.... Hope that helps ;)

do you have memory card?
Yes...

But it does it even when there is nothing else on the card?? Should I just get a different card, maybe that one is to small????

LadyG, if you're using the card that came with the camera, yes you probably need to buy a bigger card if you want to do videos.

My camera is a different kind, but I purchased a 2GB memory card when I bought the camera, and the 2GB card will hold 15min of video.... that is with nothing else on the card but the 1 video.

My cam came with a 32mb card, and yours probably has a similar one. I just keep it in the case for backup.

So yeah, about 7-8min of video per gigabyte of card memory available.

Open it up and take the card out. It probably says on the card how much memory it is.

Well, I guess that explains it....it says 16m...pretty small right!
