can anyone tell me about this guy? LO18, Gold Nugget Pleco

Thanks all. Sounds like it would outgrow my 35g.

I'll look into the "clown pleco". That sounds like it's in the range I want to be in.

If you want an algae cleaner, go with a BN pleco. There are more/different species of Ancistrus than the common brown or albinos that flood the market, some only grow to 3". Clowns are actually peckoltias, they're in a different family, and require driftwood in their diet.

just wait and see, there are other small plecs.if you're looking for an algae eater and it's your first go with ancistrus sp3 ,which is easy to breed and a hardy specimen.remember to give him his veggies

I have seen a 8" gold nugget i suggest the clown pleco they stay small 2-3".

:iagree: Not sure about 2-3" for clown plecs as max size is nearly 4" standard length (without the caudal fin) but clown plecs are really slow-growing- I've had mine 5 1/2 months and they've filled out but not grown much at all- I even posted on Planet Catfish to query if I was doing something wrong and it seems they are really slow growing. Bristlenose also stay small but grow much faster and also breed fairly easily.

Hmm, don't have driftwood......

well i considered all loricarids as plecs
The only loricariid which was once considered as the true pleco is the Hypostomus plecostomus. The rest are loricariids. Otos are loricariids, not plecos.
