can i use a 40w bulb in this ballest??

A 32 watt T8 lamp (1") actually makes more light than a 40W T12 lamp (1.25"). The t8 daylight Phillips bulbs would work great in there.

Can you use a 40W (probably T12) aquarium tube in it ???...most likely. I'd open it up and check the label on the ballast to be sure. That shows a weight of 5 lbs, so it may be a magnetic ballast, which tend to be more finicky than electronic ballasts.

:iagree: Go with the T8's

awsome thanks guys i actually have the phillips daylight bulbs in now. i thought the 40w bulbs were better. guess not thank for the replys:)
