getting rid of trumpet snails how?

These snails do proliferate like crazy. You can just squash them on the glass and your guppies will eat them. Or pick a bunch out and sell them on Ebay. Mine used to only come out at night and kept the glass spotless so I didn't mind them. They never ate my plants. If you keep you glass clean of algae they will naturally lower their numbers. But picking them out is about the best way. Some people use a snail killer chemical. I have never tried that, just don't like adding stuff to my water.

And I agree with BoredAgain - I will be setting my tank back up in a couple months and will need to get more of these guys also.

ok, so I will when it gets warmer send to who ever wants them  and I have plenty.
I tried to trick them into a jar last night, this morning the snails never went near it, but the shrimp and the guppies were having a feast  so from here on out I am feeding my shrimp and small fry this way. I love the fact the food never left the jar!!! all ate good last night, and the jar was clean of food. I was looking for a way to feed my babies with out the mess, and the shrimp, I have found it!!

feed less and the number will be reduced gradually, you'll know when the gravel is covered in small white shells

OR

you can also add a small loach and it will help control numbers. my experiece with a couple full grown zebra loaches actually led me to sell them so that I would have enough snails for the cleaning crew.

guys no adding of loaches or anything else. this tank has my baby fry in it and my cherry shrimp. soon these babies will go into the 29 gallon tank, and new fry are coming this week. the snails went mad because of the feeding of all the babies. ( 20 plus baby) in there.
I will be getting the zebra l;oaches in the next few months, I can not wait! I am going to move the cherry into the other 10 gallon tank I have set up, its a way cool tank and by then the fry will have grown big enough to also go into the 29 gallon tank.then add loach to this one and they can have a feast. I will have to quarinteen them for a month or so we shall see how many they eat in that time frame
