my 125 gallon planted tank journal

jay what about any soap residual that might be in the bathtub going into your tank.. Im sure you have it figured out just curious myself.
i rinse the tub out with the shower hose for a minute with hot water, then i position the syphen at the far end of the tub so the water is in contact with as much of the tub as possible before going down the drain. as of yet i have no problems and the fish never seem to show any signs of poison. the tub is cleaned once a week as well.

Nice tank and great prochilodus. I was thinking bout possibly getting me one also, would Leporinus be a good tank mate or maybe a couple Pacus for one of those guys??

i would avoid aggressive fish. the leporinus is a mean fish to keep with him. he is skittish and flips out easily too. a pacu of smaller or equal size should work but im sorta against owning a pacu unless you have a 1000 gallon tank. they school with silver dollars when younger and would look great with a few redhooks. they can also hold their own against semi aggressive fish, but i wouldnt stress him through it. he has jumped out of the tank and hit the ceiling just from seeing a flashlight shine in the room when the lights were out.

Very lovely!! :)

My gosh! That is beautiful! You really inspired me. I am still in my very very very early stages of a 125G setup. I have the tank, stand, filter and heaters, but still haven't decided on fish stock and if I want to do plants or any aquascape ideas in general. I will have to keep you in mind if I decide to go with plants and need to buy some.

new updates. i have new plants and added an old piece of driftwood. i combined the moss/ driftwood pieces to make room and increase my shrimp habitat. let me know what you all think.
