In my new 55 gallon tank i have 6 green tiger barbs 1 oto and two corys and i was wondering if i could what kind of livebearers i could get in there if any, i would like some white mollies

I'd be a little concerned about the tiger barbs going for the fins of the mollies. On the other hand, the mollies might be big enough to handle the barbs, who might also just confine their aggression to themselves. It's hard to say, but I'd err on the side of caution. T-barbs are neat, but I'd almost be inclined to keep them in a species tank. :idea:
On the other hand, I would get 6 more cories. Cories like being in schools of six or more and will show you more interesting behavior. Is the tank planted at all?
I agree. I have never met a T barb that didnt fin nip at some point.
I dont think you should add any livebearers to a tank with them in it.
The only fish I've know to give a barb its own was a very full female betta.

T-Barbs are hard to marry up with other community fish, but there are options (livebearers would be a tough choice though).

I think the mollies may fair well with the tiger barbs. You certainly have a decent number of barbs to where they may keep the nipping to themselves. Mollies do have tougher personalities than most livebearers as well. It could go either way.
I agree with adding to the cories and a better LB option may be swordtails. They hold their own. It seems counter-intuitive, but adding to the Tiger barbs will actually decrease outward aggression. I'd suggest 4-6 more cories of the same species, 4-6 more Tiger barbs (albino, regular, or green) and a ST trio (1M / 2F). Fry won't be a problem with Barbs in the tank.
I've got about 9 or 10 tiger barbs in a 125 along with several other types of community fish. All they do is chase each other around and leave all of the others alone. I've been having them for about 6 months.
125G must feel like an Ocean to the T. Barbs!
A lot of fish could easily co-exist in a larger tank such as a 125

More barbs would definitely help. And I would definitely try swordtails before mollies. They seem to be able to hold their own better.
