I am interested in getting a sump for my reef tank. First, is it possible to set up a sump without drilling into my tank. Second, anyone have suggestions on where to go to get one. I've done some checking around but thought maybe someone had bad/good experience and wished to share. And lastly, if anyone has any diagrams of a setup and what exactly is all needed I greatly appreciate the info. Thanks in advance!:help:

Yes it is, just get an overflow and you'll be set

Are you handy at all? you can purchase a tank, purchase some pieces of glass, and silicone the sections to turn it into a sump. It's not very difficult to do, and it'll save you a pretty penny.

And lastly, if anyone has any diagrams of a setup and what exactly is all needed I greatly appreciate the info. Thanks in advance!:help:

If you look around the DIY section, you'll find quite a few plans of different layouts. if you can tell me what size tank you'd like to use for your sump, what you'd like to put in it, whether you'll be using an insump skimmer, what kind of return pump you'll be using, I'll gladly sketch something up for you . .

Good luck!

Cheech,
Thanks for your help. As far as the size I need thats a good question. I have a 60g tank so whatever a good size would be to go with my size tank would be good. The skimmer I have now is a seaclone 100 and i think it can hang outside or sit inside but not sure. As far as a return pump, I'd go with whatever I'd need to suit my needs.
