Geko question

Well, I called her this morning first thing to tell her what you all have told me...when she checked the egg it was flattened, but I am going to write some of the info down that you have given me and give it to her tonight, so when she goes to the pet store she can pick the stuff up that she will need when she finds another egg.

Oh, she wanted me to ask...she has some stuff called "Beak Moss", from her snake, would that work to put the egg in, when/if she finds another one?

I can't say I'm familiar with Beak Moss. Pearlite or vermiculite is the best thing to use as a substrate during incubation because it holds water and keeps the humidity stable. You can find them at any garden center for a few bucks a bag.

Ok, the link says you can "make" an incubator, but it does not explain how...can anyone tell me?

Ok, thanks...I'll let her know that!! She will be glad to hear it doesn't cost much, as far as the beak moss...have know idea myself, but it was something that held moisture in it that she kept in her snakes tank.
 
Great!!! Thanks so much, she will appreciate this very much!! Although it is to late for the egg she has now...she wants to be prepared for the next one!

When/if she gets another egg I will let you all know about it and keep you updated on her progress ;)

I wish she had a computer so I could just send her here herself LOL, this is alot to write down :grinyes:
 
Ok, in looking at the incubator link...I am assuming the tuperware tub would be the same as the critter cage right?

Yep, I use those tupperware tubs that you can buy deli meat in and they work great.
 
Ok, then that is what I'll tell her to get. Getting ready to head over there here after supper!!
