Hi Friends !

My Co2 Bottles stopped producing Co2 after just 5 or 6 days !

The room temp is about 28 to 30 C and I did everything very carefully.

I find that a lot of Yeast has got collected at the base of the bottle, looking like a paste or precipitate. Its almost half an inch layer !

I dont know whats wrong, I hydrated the yeast well before mixing it into the sugar solution but still it has got collected at the base of the bottle and the co2 production has greatly reduced - almost stopped within a week.

Just wanted to get some advice regarding this... kindly help me...
Thanks !
Kush

just a handy hint I received when i made my DIY kit, use 1/2 to 3/4 tsb of yeast and 2-3 cups of sugar; less yeast will allow it to gently produce constant CO2 rather than a huge burst then die out...

also add 1/2 tsb of BiCarb (Baking Soda)

swish it once in a while to "wake" them up

hope it helps :)

Okitoki is right, u need some bicarbonates for sure.. use baking soda. And it also depends on how old your yeast was, check the expiry. It can stay dry for only so long..
