I just bought a piece of Candycane Coral last weekend and I too believe I have a small sun coral attached to mine. I thought it was Aptashia, but it looks like what you've pointed out, though really too small to confirm. What is a sun coral? Anyone have larger pictures?

So here's a question about equipment...I will keep my skimmer going (too new to the field to risk not having it) but can I safely remove my canister filter??? It does nothing but add flow. It is a 37 gallon with 30 lbs. of lr. I have 2 Koralia #3's and the skimmer. I just don't see the need to run unnecessary equipment and having more tubes going. What do you think?

I would agree...What i would do is add another 7 - 8lbs of live rock, get it up to a good level, then yes, ditch the filter....If all it doing is adding a little flow to the system, then you can safely remove it..
