in anything 20 and below?

i guess u never need one, however is it still as vital as say 30+

I would like to downgrade to a 15 or 20, but im not sure if i should set up a sump with one.

If you have the space, it would always be beneficial. If its worth the effort or not is up to you to decide.

I like them also for the fact you can hide most of your equipment in the sump instead of off the back of, or in the tank. I would think a sump would be more vital on tanks smaller than 30G because it will really add to the total water volume, making the tanks water parameters a little more stable.

But.... if you are downgrading to a smaller tank, why would you add a piece of equipment to increase the water volume?

I think I would just add a HOT filter and replace the filter media with some macro algae

downgrade cause i want a nano. I think they look cool and are neat to have in tight spaces.

it will also fill out with coral much faster. then i can move stuff to a larger tank.
