How do you make your footprint lighter?

I believe that the Earth adjusts too but with population growing and more countries becoming industrialized I think we could actually go beyond repair unless we do things to change this.

Theres no proof that we cause global warming. The Earth works in cycles. But are we speeding up the cycles? Are we causing them to go to more extreme then they normally would?

I see no harm in doing what it would take to be more environmental friendly, but at the same time I want years of research and not something we will find out in 100 years that we made it worse.

Hybrid cars are a waste unless you live in a city like LA or NY or any overpopulated place like those. Once you hit highway speeds you are using gas not electric. Then what do we do with the batteries from these cars once they are wrecked or blown up? Same with the MERCURY filled CFL bulbs. Mercury is bad for the environment. Unless recycling these products are made mandatory and strictly enforced we could actually be doing worse then bettering the situation.

If they would let us build more nuclear plants that would help a lot in closing down the coal plants.

i believe that if we do our part and be responsable like recycling hazardous material and exept news ideas instead of hiding them we can make a difference. watch the movie the 11th hour, it's more about the contributing factors to climate change.

It is also completely biased and full of half truths.....

yeah well i think we could do without all the nasty stuff that is in the air. especially in some cities... places have acid rain a lot because of the smog stuff above the city.
i dont think that's fair to the environment and the animals and fish and reptiles that inhabit those places. some of those places have no fish or frogs because of the acid rain.

even if it is blown out of proportion, i like how people are changing things that can be changed to be more environmentally friendly, like cleaning products, new biodegradable plastic bags, energy efficient light bulbs etc.

why take the risk of ruining our planet quicker when we can just adjust some things?
plus.. no offense but you guys dont know for a fact whats fact and whats truth. as far as for our planet, nobody completely knows. so why not just be on the safe side?

i read in time magazine that were cutting down rainforest to make cornfields for biofuel.. the alternative for regular gas. i dont know if people really grasp the concept yet. hello? without our planet, there is no us. were playing with things without fully understanding the consequences of our actions.

yes...and it is full of drivel and one sided opinions stated as fact for a fear factor....

That statement would apply to both sides of the arguement. Why expend energy on being safe when you have no conclusive proof of an issue.

Matches can cause a fire, but we haven't banned them....
