are flatworms bad?

My flat worms don't look like the pictures. They are white and look like the ghosts from pacman...two little tail things on the end. Are these guys okay? Sorry to hijack...

they are pretty much the same thing. just called whit flatworms. i mentioned them in my post. run fresh carbon, lower nutrients, and suck out any you can each night.

The white ones aren't the same. They actually thrive on the large copepod populations that tend to spring up in newer tanks (and some older ones, as well). They don't harm anything else and usually disappear on their own, anyway. The only way to lower their population immediately is to put a dent in the 'pod population...

Edit: I realized that both of you and myself could each be referring to something entirely different. Any pics?

I am pretty certain we are talking about the same thing. But when i said pretty much the same, i was referring to ways to irradicate them. Yes, they eat mainly pods but also anything else they can catch. Lowering your nutrients will help significantly. But you are right in the sense that i have talked to way more people who have had those disappear on their own compared to the red ones.

Thanks for the link...my guy was the very first one:
Amphiscolops sp., a harmless acoel that "shows up" at times in reef tanks.
