Can otos live by zucchini alone?

I have 3 or 4 otos in my 10 gallon tank (I say "three to four" because I put four in the tank, but I never see more than three of them at the same time).

They browse the driftwood and scuttle around the tank, but I can't get them interested in algae wafers (even if I feed after dark). They *do* seem to like the blanched zucchini rounds I've been putting in the tank.

My question: Do I need to supplement their diet with anything besides zuccini? And do you wise people have suggestions? (Crab Cuisine? Live food of some sort?).

well they should eat alage and the wafers...are the wafers still there in the morning or what? they could last on zuccine a while but i dont recommend it

mine dont eat anything i put in there, and they barly eat the zucinniye ive tryed blood worms, platon algae wafers ive tryed it all

zucchini is fine. green plant matter is green plant matter. i don't see how zucchini would be bad over time. it's better than algae wafers. i don't think wild otos get a lot of wheat and corn meal in their diets.

 You do have a point there. I suppose I was obsessing about giving them a varied diet.

To answer an earlier question -- yes, the algae wafers are still in the tank in the morning, looking completely untouched (though of course the wafer softens overnight). My gourami loves picking at it but the otos turn up their noses.

okay well yea true i guess so i sure they will also every now and then eat tank alage...

Animals require sometihng like 23 different amino acids. I don't know the right number, but it's more then 3 or 4. No non meat product, other then quinua, has all of them. I don't know if veggies only is a good way to go or not, but if you do it you definatly need to change up the veggie regularly.

So far the otos have ignored peas, cucumber, and romaine lettuce. Any other suggestions for vegetables to try? They seem to be very picky eaters. The zucchini is the only thing they've eaten. I'm sure they graze on algae in the tank, but I'm positive a 10 gallon won't produce enough algae for three otos.
