You never know what eventually might 'pop up' from your rock. I set my tank up last August and different things show up from time to time....even months after putting it in my tank.

Yes you need to have a nap in the afternoon if you can , because time flies really fast when you are night viewing lol
one min its dark out next the sun's coming up ,i did this 2 x already this week grrr im tired .
What i try to do is get a few peices from different stores and different people's tanks .
I find they all have different things in them .
RED light viewing wont scare them off as much and a good magnifying glass a much needed item.

Getting a bunch of life on purchased live rock is like throwing dice.
Well sorry for that. Its hard me to understand peoples emotions and tones when all you see is words on a page.
Obviously it varies on how much life you will get from the rock, but if you don't get any, then it really isn't much of "live rock".
